Invertebrates are animals without backbones (without the vertebrae that make up the spinal column). Invertebrates include insects, spiders, and crustaceans, as well as animals like worms, jellyfish, and sponges - pretty much every animal except fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and mammals. Invertebrates are thought to represent about 95% of all living things on earth. They are absolutely critical to human survival. By getting up close with macro photography equipment, I have tried to capture some of the beautifully complex structures, colors, and textures of these amazing animals - things that are hard to see with the naked eye.
